Woammnent Sherry George

I repeatedly work day and night
As a labourer with bad a eyesight
I do not know my rights
But all i wish is to get paid right
Working under the scorching sun,
I pick up cement and brick kilns,
I’v kept my newborn child at my neighbour’s home,
Wish I could stay home with my everyone!

At times i’m paid less than the men,
At times i get abused for my silly mistakes,
They hardly know what my pain is,
Sitting in a corner i cry now and then.
My employers sexually harrass me
When they learnt i was a single mother,
I depend on them for my bread and butter,
But in my thoughts i just want to flee somewhere better.
